A Wee Trip

Club members enjoyed a very entertaining meeting on a recent trip to the Failte club

in Charleville. Anne O’Donovan of the speakeasy club gave a very appropriate speech

which was called ‘A Wee Trip’. Also on the programme from the speakeasy club were

Mary Buckley who was toastmaster for the evening, Jerry Mulcahy gave an evaluation

and Anne Buckley was general evaluator.

At Speakeasy’s last meeting Anne O’Donovan filled the role of topicsmaster. She had a

wide variety of topics which got the audience very involved in the session. Also on the

night Helsa Giles delivered a very entertaining speech about her hill walking holiday

and what was required to have an enjoyable trip. Ronan Condon evaluated the speech.

Sean Corcoran then followed with a very informative speech about Morse code which

provided the basis of all modern day electronic gadgets. The speaker’s use of the Morse

code machine added greatly to the impact of the speech. Bridie O’Connell evaluated

Sean’s speech.
