A warm welcome was extended to club members on a recent visit to the Galtee’s club
in Mitchelstown. Members from both clubs carried out different roles at the meeting
which led to it being a very entertaining meeting. Speakeasy members Anne Buckley
and Sean Corcoran gave speeches while Helsa Giles and Ray Ryan delivered evaluations
Liam Flynn chaired the meeting and Mary Buckley conducted the General Evaluation
session. The speakeasy members are now looking forward to our trip to the Failte club in
Charleville on February 10th
Mary Buckley was also involved in our clubs last meeting where she gave a very
appropriate speech for the time of the year regarding New Year’s resolutions. She
encouraged the audience to stick with them if we had made some but also not to be hard
on ourselves if things were not working out according to plan. Sean Corcoran gave Mary
an excellent evaluation of her speech. The final speaker of the evening was a visiting
toastmaster from the Blarney club. Ted Melamphy gave a very educational presentation
on how the internet can be used to make the organising of toastmasters meetings more
efficient.
The clubs next meeting will take place on this Thursday the 6th
is welcome to attend. The meeting will begin at 8pm and finish at 10pm in the
Hibernian Hotel and guests present will not be asked to speak. For more information on
