Nothing but the Truth!
At the clubs last meeting Sean Corcoran as topics master insisted that in answering his topics members had to by all means avoid telling the truth. It turned to be a great topics session with extreme untruths being banded about the room for about twenty five minutes. By the end of the session everybody was taken aback by the fact that members found it easier to answer topics once we could avoid the truth. Marie Lyons as General Evaluator complemented Sean on trying something different for a topics session.
Philip O’Byrne a guest speaker from the Glanmire Club delivered a fine speech which was very entertaining. By the end of his speech he had the audience in fits of laughter with his use of deadpan humour. Tony O’Regan as the speakers evaluator thanked the speaker for visiting the club and also gave him some helpful tips on how to improve his delivery in future speeches. Michael Cronin also delivered an entertaining speech and his evaluator Brendan Foley was deemed best evaluator of the night.

What Happens In Vegas
At the clubs most recent meeting David Frawley delivered a very entertaining and informative speech about a recent trip he had in Las Vegas. He described the place in great detail and gave helpful hints on what time of the year to travel there, where to stay and how to minimise the amount of money you are going to lose gambling. Margaret O’Regan gave David a very helpful evaluation of his speech.
Throughout the meeting Helsa Giles as toastmaster for the evening ensured the meeting ran smoothly. It was her first time doing the role and her jovial warm character ensured everybody had an enjoyable meeting. Rona Coughlin was the second speaker of the evening and she delivered a very inspirational speech with the title ‘Just Do It’. She encouraged us all to take up a challenge to try something new or also it could also be saying no to something which we no longer want to be involved with. Pat Sexton evaluated Rona’s speech.
